Perfect for the price
Even if you're not happy with the quality of the materials, you are still getting ten 45 watt 5500K bulbs plus stands, boom, bags, and soft boxes. How can anyone complain about that? I was expecting flimsy materials so I was preparing to handle everything gently. The banks are plastic and do seem like they would break easily if you cranked down on the handles too hard. So I make it a point never to crank down on the handles too hard. The sewing is pretty shoddy but can be remedied quickly with a sewing machine. Overall I'm happy with the lights. They function well and didn't break the bank.
What country did this come from...what country am I in?
I'm really, really hoping when I get this put together it works great...if it does I'll send another review. The directions were terrible. I found a video on You Tube or I'd never had gotten this put together. To see the video copy and paste this into a search [...]. I had plans on using these for a photo shoot tomorrow night but the plugs won't go into my electrical sockets. They seem to be designed for another country. Also one of my light bulbs had come apart at the base.....I really want these to work and hate to try to box it back up....I'll keep you posted.
I JUST CHANGED MY REVIEW TO 1 STAR....
I e-mailed them twice and got no response. I then called them. I told them I had one bad bulb and that my cords were for a foreign country. They said they would send me a return tag. After all I went through to put those things together I asked if we could just exchange the cords and the one bulb. They said no. I had to return the whole unit. So I told them I want my money back. They are not of the greatest quality but I didn't really expect them to be for the price. But since they can't just send the cords I've decided it's not worth the hassel. Good luck!
Not quite sure yet!
I probably shouldn't be reviewing this product yet, because I'm not fully aware of how to use it or do studio shots, but it came in a timely matter (like 5 business days) and it seems that all of the parts are there. I haven't assembled the hair box yet. I can tell that its not top quality, but it will probably work for what I need it for. I'm thinking this is great for beginners. I also accidentally order "video" rather than "studio" and I'm not sure what the diff is. If someone can comment and tell me, then I would appreciate it. I think I'm going to enjoy this light set!

I'll give this product a A-
My kit showed up and was defective.
One of the silver pockets that hold a rod in the 5 light soft box was not sown in properly, lucky for me i had a needle and thread on hand and fixed it on the spot. This did cause a little delay with my shoot but the clients didn't mind. The other soft box was missing some of the white Velcro pieces, i tucked the diffuser behind the rod and that worked.
I still need to fix that once I get the Velcro.
One of the main light ballast also was missing half of the screws. Which I may have to email them and request the missing Velcro pieces and screws.
The kit performs wonderfully and the photos were perfect.
The price is another reason I purchased this product, I just couldn't find a better deal.
The company's website also had video's for the setup.
Not very good quality
I bought this set and was not very happy with its quality. Very cheap and flimsy. I don't normally review products I bought especially if I'm happy with it. But this one feels like a toy, made os cheap plastic that breaks easily. One of the lights stopped working. Please beware.
The CowboyStudio 2275 Watt Digital Video Continuous Softbox Lighting Kit is all need if you are looking for an all around high quality lighting just as preferred by professionals. This is also a cost effective way, because it proves to be cheaper than buying it piece by piece.
